01 / Quick start
Make a skin in five steps.
- 1Create a project.
Tap the plus button in the gallery. The new skin opens in the 3D editor.
- 2Choose a colour.
Tap the colour wheel, adjust its brightness slider, or reuse a colour from Recent.
- 3Paint in 3D.
Select Paint and tap or drag across the model. Use two fingers to rotate and pinch to zoom.
- 4Check every side.
Tap the labelled view cube for Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, or Bottom, and use exploded view for hard-to-reach areas.
- 5Export.
Tap the export button and allow BlockFit to add the standard 64 × 64 PNG to Photos.
02 / Gallery & organisation
Your skin library.
The gallery is the home for every locally saved project. Tap any skin card to continue editing it.
New Skin
Create a fresh skin. The plus inside a group creates it directly in that group.
New Group
Create a named group, or drag a skin onto the New Group card to make a group from it.
Help & Privacy
Open this support website or the public privacy policy.
Press and hold a skin card
- Duplicate makes a separate copy and opens it.
- Move to Group sends it to a group or back to Ungrouped.
- Delete removes the local project.
You can also drag skin cards directly between groups. Press and hold a group heading to rename or delete the group; deleting a group does not delete its skins—it returns them to Ungrouped.
03 / Editor map
The whole studio at a glance.

Back to gallery
Return to your library. Your current edits remain saved.
Save PNG to Photos
Export the finished 64 × 64 skin after unlimited exports are unlocked.
Export access
Open the one-time purchase or see that unlimited exports are already active.
View cube
Tap a labelled face to snap the character to that exact viewpoint.
Tap the project name at the top of the editor to rename it. The name is used in the gallery and updates automatically.
04 / Moving around in 3D
Paint with one finger. Navigate with two.
One-finger tap
Apply the selected paint, fill, erase, pick, or visibility action.
One-finger drag
Paint a continuous stroke when the drag begins on the model.
Two-finger drag
Rotate the character. The first strong direction locks the rotation axis for a steadier view.
Pinch
Zoom in for precise pixels or out to inspect the complete design.
05 / Colour & paint tools
From single pixels to complete parts.
Choose a hue on the wheel and use the horizontal slider beneath it to adjust the colour. BlockFit keeps your 18 most recently used opaque colours at the top of the panel.
Paint
Paint one pixel at a time. Drag across the model for a continuous stroke.
Erase
Remove pixels. Body-layer pixels return to white; outer-layer pixels become transparent.
Pick
Tap any visible pixel to make its colour the current colour.
Fill Face
Fill the complete face you tap, such as the front of an arm or side of the head.
Fill Part
Fill every face of one body part in a single tap.
Noise
Add controlled colour variation to Paint, Fill Face, or Fill Part. Adjust the percentage below the tools.
How Noise works
Turn on Noise, then set its strength from 0% to 100%. Every painted pixel is varied slightly around your chosen colour. It works with Paint, Fill Face, and Fill Part, and is useful for fabric, stone, shading, and less uniform surfaces.
Snap to a straight view, zoom in, and use Paint one pixel at a time.
Use Fill Part first, then add details with Paint and Noise.
06 / Body & outer layers
Work underneath—or add dimension on top.
Body layer
The solid base skin: head, torso, left and right arms, and left and right legs.
Outer layer
The raised overlay: hat, jacket, sleeves, and pants. Transparent pixels reveal the body underneath.
Tap versus press and hold
- Tap the Body or Outer icon to show or hide the entire layer.
- Press and hold an icon to enter part-visibility mode. A hand indicator appears.
- While holding, tap the model to show or hide the selected head, torso, arm, or leg area.
When you reveal an empty outer-layer part, BlockFit gives it visible pixels in the current colour so you can start editing it. Erasing the outer layer restores transparency; erasing the body returns it to white.
07 / Exploded view
Pull every part apart.
Drag the vertical slider on the left upward to separate the model. This makes the inside edges of arms, legs, body, and outer layers easy to see and paint.
- Start: the complete character is assembled.
- First stop: when outer-layer pixels are visible, the small marked stop lifts the armor away from the body.
- Full explode: continue dragging upward to spread the head, torso, arms, and legs apart.
Drag the slider back down to rebuild the character. Your painted pixels and visibility choices do not change.

08 / Power tools
Repeat less. Check more.

Backdrop
Show or hide the scene background and floor behind the character.
Symmetry
Mirror edits across the face and between the left and right arms and legs.
Wrap
Repeat arm and leg edits around every side of the appendage.
Undo
Step back through up to 80 editor changes in the current session.
Redo
Reapply a change after Undo.
09 / Save, export & purchases
Your project stays editable.
Creating, editing, previewing, organising, and keeping projects on the iPad are free. Unlimited PNG exports are unlocked with one in-app purchase—there is no subscription.
Tap Unlock unlimited exports and complete the Apple purchase sheet.
Tap the export icon at the top right of the editor.
Allow BlockFit to add images to Photos. The exported skin appears as a standard 64 × 64 PNG.
Restore on another iPad
Open any skin, tap Unlock unlimited exports, and choose Restore Purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. The purchase can be restored; locally saved skin projects do not automatically move between devices.
10 / Troubleshooting
Quick fixes.
Export did not appear in Photos
Open iPad Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos › BlockFit and allow the app to add photos. Return to BlockFit and export again.
I cannot rotate while painting
Begin a two-finger drag anywhere in the editor, or drag from empty space. A one-finger drag that begins on the model is treated as painting.
I painted the opposite arm or leg by mistake
Symmetry is probably active. Tap the blue Symmetry button to turn it off, then use Undo if needed.
My colour appeared on every side of an arm or leg
Wrap is active. Tap the blue Wrap button to turn it off before painting side-specific detail.
An outer-layer pixel disappeared
Outer-layer erase is transparent by design. Switch to Paint or Fill, select a colour, and paint that location again.
A project is missing after deleting the app
Projects live in BlockFit’s private local storage. Deleting the app can remove them. Export finished work to Photos before removing the app.
